When
most people think of business espionage they think of the way that it is
presented in films: confidential data or prototypes of a new development
are stolen from the owner in the most amazing ways. In
practice it is usually more commonplace. Confidential information and/or
prototypes are desirable objects and are usually acquired by people who
are on the payroll and are bribed, or people who gain employment or are
placed on the payroll by a competitor for the express purpose of
acquiring the data and/or prototype. In
most cases suspicions arise because a competitor, just before the
announcement of a new development for which a company has invested and
worked for years, brings an identical product onto the market. Also,
repeatedly failing to bring in orders can be a sign that data is
leaking. Certainly if your company is repeatedly being undercut by the
same competitor. Our employees have years of experience in tracing business espionage: the finding of eavesdropping equipment as well as the proving of espionage by employees. |
